Managing Director, The Glover Park Group
John is a managing director at The Glover Park Group, a media- and communications-strategy company in Washington, D.C., and the editor at large for The Washington Monthly. He was previously the digital editor at The Atlantic, where he helped grow the magazine’s digital audience by 10x; win extensive recognition, including National Magazine Awards for Best Website and Magazine of the Year; and drive a profitable media company. Prior to The Atlantic he was an advisor at McKinsey & Company, in the Social Sector, Public Sector, and Media & Entertainment practices. He has also been the editor of The New Republic, a staff editor at the Journal of Democracy, and a freelance journalist. From Halifax, John has a BA in History from McGill University, an MS in Politics from the London School of Economics, and a PhD in Political Science from Yale.
